Backyard BBQ

We thought it would be fun to invite everyone to join us for a BBQ at our new house.

Jon put in a fire pit out back, so we thought we could all roast hot dogs! Everyone brought a salad or dessert to share, and we had chips, condiments, and drinks provided.

People in attendance were:

Karen & Keaton Braithwaite (Our fun new neighbors)
My Mom and Craig + London & Zoe
Gpa Bob & Gma Dixie
Dianne (David was at the BYU/UTAH game...)
Gma Curtis
Matt & Elise + Cohen, Beckett, & Sawyer
My Dad and Julianne + Jarom, Brynne, and Taci (Taryn had a color guard competition)
Nanny
Heather & Matt Perry

We all had a really good time enjoying the last bits of good weather.
All the kids had a great time playing with each other.
Cohen and Beckett were in 7th Heaven!
The only rotten thing were all the flies and mosquitoes:(
Mini wasn't sure what to think about all the people. She does much better around just Jon and I. She is a nervous nelly... not a party girl for sure..

We also sent out a fun announcement to let everyone know our new address.
So of course we had a little mini photo shoot so we would have pictures for the announcement.
Here are few of those pictures:

So all of you should know our new address by now.... but if you don't one more time...
337 S 300 W Brigham City, UT 84302

Everyone is welcome to come by and see us:)

Thanks to everyone that came to celebrate with us!!

Extreme Home Makeover!!!

Buying our house came with its challenges....

Our home was a foreclosed home owned by Chase. The previous owners didn't care for it at all!! I probably wouldn't have given it a second look if my mom hadn't of been there. She has an eye for seeing through the dirt and grime. With a little TLC our house has become the perfect home for us.

I thought you might enjoy seeing a little before and after pictures to show off everyones hard work!

And of course DURING must be shown as well....

We also had quite a few cleaning projects.... Here are pictures of just a couple....

Most of all we just love how everything has come together!!!!!

I am absolutely in love with my adorable little home!!! Everyone is welcome to come by and visit!

A Dog, A House, and Two Years Down!

Life has been quite CRAZY for the past month!

JUNE 10th 2013-- We expanded our family and adopted a dog...

I had been wanting to get a dog for along time, but living in apartments has kept us from going through with it. I had been on the Cache Human Society website and found a chihuahua puppy I couldn't resist. So with less than a month left at our apartment I called the landlord to see if we could have a dog there for a few weeks. He said that it was ok, and minutes later I was headed to the shelter. I met the little puppy and she was real cute, but another chihuahua in a kennel below her really caught my eye. She was a stray found in Logan, and they estimated her to be about 3-5 years old. I fell in love with her, and I thought she was a much better fit being already potty and kennel trained. Jon and I are absolutely in love with her. She has a very playful and sweet personality. Weighing in at a whopping 4.1 pounds we decided "Mini" was a very appropriate name for her.

So without further a do... Meet Miss Mini!

JUNE 12th 2013- Signed to Close on our House!!

Jon and I woke up bright and early to meet our realtor Linda Jensen at the title company to sign a large stack of papers finalizing the purchase of our house. We couldn't have been more excited!! She met us that afternoon to give us the keys. We knew we had a lot of work ahead of us, but we were thrilled to at least get the ball rolling. That night we started working on getting the lawn watered because sections were beginning to die having not been watered for along time. The next weekend we took down the popcorn ceiling that was in most of the house, and started texturing and painting the ceilings. We also had central air installed, painted the entire upstairs, removed wallpaper, and replaced all the flooring. In the two bedrooms upstairs we found hardwood flooring!! So we had someone come refinish it, and had the carpet guy adjust his measurements. I love sitting in my house knowing that we put the blood, sweat, and tears into making it a beautiful home.

JUNE 28th 2013- Moved out of our Apartment...

Bye Bye boring old apartment!!! We had to be out of our apartment on July 1st, so the weekend before everyone came to help move our stuff to the house. Most of the things were kept downstairs or in the garage because we were still waiting on the flooring to be installed. The only room that was ready for furniture was our room. We stayed at my Grandpa Peterson's house in Elwood just a mile down from my Dads for about a week and a half while the flooring was being done.

JULY 12th 2013- First Night @ Our HOME!

Jon had the day off so he gathered all our stuff from Grandpa's and brought it to our house. We still have a TON of boxes to unpack, stuff to put away, and pictures to hang. Appliances were delivered a couple days before, and everything is looking so good. We also refinished the tub/shower and it wouldn't be ready to use for another 5 days. So we would be driving up to my moms to shower, but we were still so excited to be in our house! We still have the bathroom to de-wallpaper and paint, and also the spare bedroom so as soon as we get settled we will have another project ahead of us!!

I promise as soon as I  get the house more organized and decorated I will post pictures of the whole thing, but for now a few before and afters will have to do:)

Bedroom Before....

And After!!!

JULY 16th 2013

I cannot believe it has been two years since I married Jonathan. I have to say the 2nd year feels like it went a lot smoother. We must be getting the hang of it:) I really am a very lucky girl, and we have a lot to be grateful for. Since our anniversary landed on a weekday, we are going to celebrate this coming Saturday with Lunch, Movie, and 2 hr Appt @ the SPA! I feel it is very much deserved and needed after all our hard work:) I came home from work to some beautiful flowers, and a sweet card. Jon even had Mini sign it with an ink pad and her paw!!

*** Last but NOT least.... I want to express a heart felt THANKS to our family and the HELP & SUPPORT they have been through this whole process. We COULD NOT have done it without their help.

WE LOVE U ALL!
