Super Spoiled!!!!

Jonathan really spoiled me this birthday...

I had the day off work so my Mom and I spent the night in Heber with my Grandma and Grandpa. My mom got me the cutest coat... So cute- my Grandma had to have one just like it:) Sure glad I have a nice dress coat now. I've been freezing at work!!!

My little cousin Raynee Lucia Hess was born Monday Dec 10th. She couldn't have come a better day because we got to go meet her on my birthday. It was the best present I could have asked for.
Just look at this sweet baby girl!!!!

Jon got me the rest of the weekend-- and boy did we have a good time.
He took me to Zupas and I had my favorite soup!
He gave me another charm for my bracelet, and it happend to be a hockey player, but I couldn't figure out why I would get a hockey player for a charm... turns out we had front row tickets to the Grizzlies Hockey Game. Then we stayed the night at the Marriott in City Creek on the 15th floor, with a great view of the temple.

BUT.. Thats not all!

He had tickets to a play at the Off Broadway Theatre. It was called "Off White Christmas" a spoof of the "White Christmas" It was hilarious!! Jon sure embarrassed me by volunteering me on stage twice!
We wrapped up the night with dinner at Tepanyaki, and headed home.

It was such a nice weekend away, and I feel so lucky!!!

One Year Older, and Wiser too?

It was time again to celebrate Jonathan's Birthday:)

Since it was on a Thursday there wasn't a ton we could do, but I saw the Box Elder High School was putting on a dinner musical and thought that would be fun. It was a spoof of Harry Potter called "Sherry Potter." She and her friends "Hermin" and "Ronda" had to save Diagon Alley from the evil "VoldeMART" haha... It was so fun and very entertaining!!

Then I took him to his parents for cake, ice cream, and presents. Poor kid had to wait till 10pm before he got to open his gifts. I got him a game we played with Cam & Heather that he really liked. I also embarrassed him a little by decorating the front door, so everybody knew it was his birthday:)

Some other fun things....

We got to see this Sweet Boy for Thanksgiving. He sure has grown!!

Our Tree went Up!
Poor thing is squished in our little apartment.
Cannot wait to get into a house:)

Heather came over and we had a little craft night.
My sister Taryn was there too.
We were covered in green glitter by the time we were finished.
But I think the final product was very worth it.

An October Overview

I didn't ever want to do an "overview" but time has slipped right by and I haven't posted in months...

So our October started out with a trip to the Brigham City Temple. Jonathan and I did a little research into our family history and found some names, so I took Taryn, London, and Jarom to do the baptisms. It was very neat being there with my siblings doing our own family history. And can I tell you how much I LoVE the Brigham City Temple!!!

We surprised my Grandpa Harry with a 80th Birthday Party! It was neat because we were able to get most the family in town for it:) He was very surprised!
Taryn is on the Color Guard Team, and as much as Jonathan didn't want to go to Bear River's Homecoming we went to support her. She has really picked it up quick and does such a good job. I am so glad she has found something she likes to do. It's important to feel like you are a part of something especially in high school. Gee has she grown up fast...

Jon's parents invited us to go to a BYU game. They played Oregon State... and the game sucked... but we still had a good time:)
Matt and Elise invited us to the go to Thriller at USU and it's not October without Thriller. We had a really good time. It's nice to have them so close, we really like hanging out with them.
This year everybody got a real kick out of our Halloween costumes.... I think the pictures will speak for themselves...

And Pumpkins, Pumpkins, Pumpkins!!!!

An Aunt & Uncle

Jonathan and I aren't quite ready for kids of our own yet... So instead we take our aunt and uncle duties pretty seriously:)

Over Labor Day weekend we took a trip to Richland Washington to meet our newest Nephew, and be their for his blessing. We had a great time seeing Heather and Cam... and of course loving on Roderick as much as possible.

Jon meeting Roderick

Always happy with a baby in my arms:)

Stunning Parents

Gma and Gpa Curtis

Great Grandma Curtis

Showing him off after his blessing

One thing we loved about him is the fact that he loves to sleep on your chest... Got some priceless pictures of Jon and I enjoying his naps on us:)

But it doesn't stop there!!
We got to watch Beckett and Sawyer today...

Sawyer slept most of the time, but boy is Beckett a Hoot!!! He has been potty training, and is such a big boy. He has a potty dance he does after he makes it in the toilet. I am sure he would want me to post the picture of his huge jump we captured this morning. He thought it was SO COOL:)

Beckett's high jump!

She is getting so big!!!

We are really hoping to go down as the best Aunt and Uncle in history... Think we will make it??

I'm a Dixie Chick

Dixie Chick-  meaning; one who has a grandmother by the name of Dixie, and has the origin of a female.

My grandma has a lot of little chicks... Most of her grandkids are girlies:) We have lots of fun together- no matter the occasion.

When my Mom, Grandma, Aunt Em, and I went on a girls trip to Hawaii, we found out the Hawaiian word for Grandma is Tutu. Ever since my Grandma has been my Tutu.

I am one lucky chick to have a Grandma like my Grandma Dixie. She is such a good example to me. She has had many adversities in her life, but always presses on. She always has nice words for me, and builds me up, and she is always concerned about everyone else around her.

But most of all she raised my Momma-

This is to you Tutu!!

Love you Forever and Always--

Your Granddaughter,

Holli

1st Year of Marriage

A year feels as if it has flown by...

Jonathan and I celebrated our 1st Year Anniversary July, 16 2012.
It is crazy to think about all the things that we have done this past year, and all the MANY things we have learned.

I have come to realize marriage isn't "Happily Ever After" like the cinemas try to fool you into thinking.
It is actually a lot of work. It is two very imperfect people trying to be their best for themselves, and each other.

Jon and I love each other like crazy- but love isn't everything. I don't think marriage will ever all the sudden be "easy" or that some day we will "get the hang of it." Through this first year I have realized our marriage is something we have to be continually nourishing.

I don't mind though... My marriage to Jonathan is important enough to me that I will be nourishing it into the eternities. With allowing our Heavenly Father to be the third piece to our puzzle we can and will make this work.

But if any of you wise experienced married peeps have any advice we are open to suggestions:)

To Celebrate we stayed in the "Bear Cabin" for 2 nights in Rigby, ID at the B&B called Aspen Grove. (A graduation gift from my Dad's Family)

We went to a fun Dinner and Show full of shoot outs, music, dancing, wagon rides, and of course good food!!!

We tried our hand at fishing... Jon may need some tips from my Dad on how to put together a pole... but granted he is the only one who got a fish:)

I also surprised Jon with a adventure zip-linning down the mountain on 7 different lines. Our instructors were the biggest teases!! Especially after finding out I was nervous, but Jon even got brave enough to go down one upside down!!! One of the long lines they let us go together:) We shared a kiss while zipping through the air! He surprised me with a beaded charm bracelet I have had my eye on. I love it- It was so thoughtful of him.

Before heading home we had a nice lunch in Idaho Falls. Then of course we had to break out the year old wedding cake! Surprisingly it was still really good. We lit our 1 Year Candle and made a wish for many more.

Happy Anniversary- after a year I can't even imagine a life without you anymore:)
