2 Years Too Many!

How could it be?

My baby is 2 years old! Honestly the best two years of our lives... even if it gets hard at times. Also the fastest 2 years of life. I can hardly remember where those 2 years have gone. Being a Mom to Zella Jane is the best thing I have ever done. She is a light and joy in our lives. It is a pleasure to be her parents. Since day one she has brought such a special spirit into our home. We love her so much:)

At Two Years Old...

You are 25lbs, and 31 inches tall.

You are a good little eater when you want to be... I have always been surprised that you don't like pasta, not even Mac & Cheese! Maybe one day you will. You do love almost all fruit and veggies. You also love to "dip" your food in whatever we can come up with. You still love baby food pouches, and you love to snack.

You have almost 16 teeth... No signs of your 2 yr old molars yet...

You love to Jump, and that is your version of "dancing" just hopping around in a circle:) You insist on us getting up and jumping in circles with you.

I love how you say Hello, and Goodbye to everything you see... Hello Car, Goodbye Car... Hello Temple, Goodbye Temple..

There are certain words that I love to hear you say, just cause its SO cute:) Things like: "Yip (Zip)" "Dirty Hands" "Temple (Pemple)" "I Love You" and "Up or Down (Upper-Down)" "Button (Buttee)" "Hello?"- You pick up on the things we say very quick... You tell Momma, "Stop it" all the time now, cause Mom says that to you often... You have also said, "Freakin and Heck" >..< Oops! We like to call you our Echo, or Mocking Bird cause you are always repeating our every word!

You LOVE to sing! and I love it! You will sing along to whatever is playing in the car, and you love helping lead the music whether we are at church or just having FHE... Some of your most favorite songs are, "I Love to see the Temple" "Popcorn Popping" "Finger Family" "Rock-a-by Baby" "Open Shut Them" You know ALL the words, and don't want Mom and Dad's help singing them anymore.. Every night we sing Rock-a-by Baby to you, and rock you like a baby. When we get to the word "fall" we act like we are going to drop you. This has become part of the routine, and you love it. So do I... its the only time you will let me rock you like a baby:)

You insist on saying your own prayers now... You always begin with "Heavenly Father" then you say things like: Day, Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa, Temple, Sleep Good, Safe, Happy. Things that you've picked up on when we've helped you say prayers.. Then you end, "Name Jesus Christ Amen" It melts our hearts!!! You also say "Amen" when we are done reading a book:)

Speaking of books.. You love reading books! Going to story time each week at the library is a favorite thing of yours. I can't even name all of your favorite books... You really love them all, but of course ones about Kitties catch your attention!

You love taking care of your baby dolls. You are very sweet with them. You will read them stories, sing them songs, change their diapers, go on stroller rides, and most of all feed them lots of bottles! One day you even put one in your bed, turned on your white noise machine, shut the door, and told me she needed a nap:) You also have met a few real babies recently, and you adore them!

You LOVE to be outside. You don't mind getting dirty. You are a good little helper and love helping Dad in the yard. You are loving the park, and Mom is interested to see how you like the outdoor pool this year.

You used to be obsessed with Monkeys, you called them "Ah Ah's" But now you are ALL about the Kitties! You will agree to do anything if it involves a Kitty:) You love going to Bam-ma's to see her Kitties.

So... of course we have to fuel this "Kitty Obsession" and so we had a Kitty Birthday Party! Most of Zella's Presents had something to do with Kitties. We got lots of Kitty Clothes, Stuffed Kitties, and even a Kitty Hat!

Zella's Birthday fell on Mother's Day this year. So we just had close family come over Sunday Evening and had some cake and ice cream with us. Zella started the party in her cute kitty outfit I got her for the occasion. As she opened her gifts she had to change into the kitty swimsuit she got, to the kitty pajamas. It took forever to open all her presents, because she was so excited about each one, and had to play with them or put them on before she would go to the next gift... The next day we had several friends come play with us and shared some Kitty Cookies with them. We had lots of fun! It was a "Purrrfect" Party:)

I had made cute little kitty ears for her to wear during these pictures, but she wouldn't have it!

This picture describes this new "terrible twos" phase we are entering perfectly...

She was so excited to blow out her candles, and did it all by herself!
