Sugar & Spice, and All Things Nice...

As most of you know already... Last week we found out our peanut is a girl.
My grandma is an ultrasonographer-- so Thanksgiving weekend we went to visit so she could take a peek.

I really wanted to have a little girl first. I would have been happy with either of course, but I really was hoping for a girl, so much in fact that I was sure we would have a boy. Jonathan was pretty positive it was a girl from the very first.

My mom really wanted a girl too, because she has all girls, and said she wouldn't know what to do with a boy! All my sisters wanted a niece except for London and Brynne cause they are tom-boys... and Jarom being out numbered with all his sisters wanted a nephew.

But when Grandma Dixie got a clear shot of that bottom she said, "I do declare we have another Dixie Chick." I am so glad my Grandma was able to do the ultrasound because it made it more special for me, and she was able to get some of the sweetest pictures!!

Little Baby Feet:)
To tell everyone we had pink and blue balloons. After finding out it was a girl we put tiny holes in all the blue ones. Everyone made their guess with the appropriate colored balloon. Then we all blew up our balloons at the same time, and obviously the blue ones wouldn't stay blown up... meaning It's a Girl! It was a fun and easy way to tell all the family.

Before we knew... with our guesses

Now that we know what we are having it's been hard to stay away from the cute baby girl clothes. My boss at work gave me a cute outfit that will fit her come fall, and my Mom and I found some awesome deals at the DI.

So as of right now I am 18wks 3days. I've been keeping down all my food for about 3wks now, but I've figured out I still have to take a Zofran in the morning. I've also started feeling her move!! It is a really neat feeling:) Makes me love her even more... if that's possible. I have found she is most active between 6-9 at night. Jon is really jealous and keeps asking me how much longer tell he can feel her too...

Now we just need to decide on her name!!

It's the Holidays!

Jon's birthday was pretty low key this year. We are trying to save up $$ for the baby on the way so we went to Moore's for dinner and rented a movie to watch at home. It wasn't until a few days later that I realized we never sang him "Happy Birthday" or blow out candles. With my pregnancy hormones all hay wire this was a trigger for uncontrollable crying. Jon could have cared less about the singing and blowing out candles, but I was so upset... So even though we were a few days late.. we still sang and blew out candles.

Birthday Kisses!!

We had a very nice Thanksgiving in Heber City with all of my Moms Family. Unfortunately I didn't take one picture! We did venture out and did some Black Friday Shopping, but none of it was actually done on "Friday." We got a good deal on a stroller car seat combo, and everything at Old Navy was 50% off so I got some Maternity clothes!

Next day we worked on getting out the Christmas Decor!!
For Jon & I this is our 3rd Christmas Married.. 4th Christmas Together
But it is also our 1st Christmas in our Home, and Mini's 1st Christmas.
We were excited to get a nice pre-lit tree for the new house, and of course Christmas Lights!!

Spreading the News!

The secret is finally out!!

We have had a great time surprising everyone with the big news.

It all started on the morning of Sept 6th when the little plus showed up on my pregnancy test.
Jon was already at work, so I left the test on the counter with this card sitting next to it.. I thought it was pretty clever;) It seemed like the longest day ever at work waiting for him to get home and find it!

Next around 8 weeks along we told my Mama. It was kind of a spur of the moment decision. Her and my Grandparents were at my house waiting for the guests to arrive to the barbecue we were hosting. I just couldn't keep it from her any longer! Earlier we had taken an 8 week picture of me, so I causally asked if she wanted to see the picture we took earlier. She obviously needed her "Grandma Glasses" on because she thought the "8 weeks" written in the picture said "Sweets" after telling her to look a little closer she said, "8 weeks! Why did you wait so long to tell me??" Haha...

For Julianne's birthday we had a dinner with all her family. What a perfect time to give a her a "birthday present"... Everyone was very surprised when this was what she found!! Except for the fact that we spilled the news the week before... the gift was still a surprise though!

29 Weeks till we are Grandparents!
For Jon's parents I put together something special. When Dianne opened it she didn't notice the last picture... until David told her to look a little closer! I sent a picture of it saying, "Look what we got Mom & Dad" to all Jon's siblings that night... After everyone responded but Stephanie I had Jon call her... She had looked past the last picture too!

Grandkids make life grand!

I had told my Mom she could tell Craig if she wanted, but she said that was my privilege... So we wrapped up a late birthday gift. He looks surprised, but the first thing he said was, "I saw that one coming..." I thought the t-shirt fit his style pretty well... He is going to make a good lookin gramps:)
Zoe took awhile to catch on what it meant if Dad was going to be a grandpa, but she was pretty excited when she figured out it meant she was going to be an aunt!

The Grandfather
Very last we posted this fun announcement on Facebook & Insta on Halloween right after our 2nd doctor visit. As of right now I am 14 weeks & Due May 9th. The babe is the size of a Lemon, about 3 inches long. Our last ultrasound was fun because the sweet thing was squirming all over and kept waving its little hand at us, but even when it looked more like a blob we were already in love.

Now everyone knows!! Boy is it nice to get that big secret off our chest!!
Stay tuned for whether we will have a she or he!!

Backyard BBQ

We thought it would be fun to invite everyone to join us for a BBQ at our new house.

Jon put in a fire pit out back, so we thought we could all roast hot dogs! Everyone brought a salad or dessert to share, and we had chips, condiments, and drinks provided.

People in attendance were:

Karen & Keaton Braithwaite (Our fun new neighbors)
My Mom and Craig + London & Zoe
Gpa Bob & Gma Dixie
Dianne (David was at the BYU/UTAH game...)
Gma Curtis
Matt & Elise + Cohen, Beckett, & Sawyer
My Dad and Julianne + Jarom, Brynne, and Taci (Taryn had a color guard competition)
Nanny
Heather & Matt Perry

We all had a really good time enjoying the last bits of good weather.
All the kids had a great time playing with each other.
Cohen and Beckett were in 7th Heaven!
The only rotten thing were all the flies and mosquitoes:(
Mini wasn't sure what to think about all the people. She does much better around just Jon and I. She is a nervous nelly... not a party girl for sure..

We also sent out a fun announcement to let everyone know our new address.
So of course we had a little mini photo shoot so we would have pictures for the announcement.
Here are few of those pictures:

So all of you should know our new address by now.... but if you don't one more time...
337 S 300 W Brigham City, UT 84302

Everyone is welcome to come by and see us:)

Thanks to everyone that came to celebrate with us!!

Extreme Home Makeover!!!

Buying our house came with its challenges....

Our home was a foreclosed home owned by Chase. The previous owners didn't care for it at all!! I probably wouldn't have given it a second look if my mom hadn't of been there. She has an eye for seeing through the dirt and grime. With a little TLC our house has become the perfect home for us.

I thought you might enjoy seeing a little before and after pictures to show off everyones hard work!

And of course DURING must be shown as well....

We also had quite a few cleaning projects.... Here are pictures of just a couple....

Most of all we just love how everything has come together!!!!!

I am absolutely in love with my adorable little home!!! Everyone is welcome to come by and visit!
